The 18th Annual San José Mariachi Festival will be held at the HP
Pavilion in San Jose, CA on Sunday September 27th, 2009. The festival
will honor Cesar Chavez. Carlos will be joining Los Lobos during their
set. Little Joe y La Familia will open.
This year Festival Artistic Director Linda Ronstadt has created a very
special tribute to the courage and charisma of our cultural icons. Ms.
Ronstadt's central programming focus is a celebration of the legacy of
San José's hometown hero, Cesar Chavez, bringing together for the first
time artists who themselves stood side by side with Cesar in his fight
for social justice. Join us as we present unforgettable performances by
the contemporary heroes who will interpret Cesar's commitment to
justice through their personal musical vocabulary and palette.
The festival includes various musical & cultural performances spread out across San Jose, CA between Sept 20-27, 2009.
